Earn British Pounds Online With These Six Steps

Thousands, if not millions of South Africans have flocked to the UK over the years and many have gone for one main reason, in search of earning the mighty British pound..! Traveling abroad to places like England and Europe is a great experience but here I am going to share a few steps that can be followed which will enable you to be able to make pounds online from the sunny shores of SA.

So if you could get what I am about to share up to a level where you are earning about a thousand pounds a month, you would be pulling in a potential R18,000.00, not without some time and work on your behalf but quite possible and not a bad income at all. It will help if you have a little technical knowledge related to the Internet when it comes to implementing this but it is not rocket science and can easily be learned.

Here are the steps:

1. Research a popular topic for the UK market
2. Register a .co.uk domain name
3. Create a website on this topic
4. Write and add articles on the topic
5. Sign-up with a UK based affiliate program
6. Find and add campaigns within the affiliate program related to your topic

Now, I could write pages and pages explaining each of the above points but I will try and highlight the main details within this article to get you going should you choose to do this.

The breakdown:

1: Research a popular topic for the UK market - There are many paid tools that can help you to research keywords and search terms to find out what is popular on the Internet. I have used some of them but found the free ones to be just as much use. Free online tools include The Google Ad Words Keyword Tool, Word tracker suggestion tool and SEO Tools Keyword suggestion. When I am looking for a popular topic in a specific country like the UK I use the Google insight search tool as well. Take a little time learning each tool and comparing before finally choosing the topic you are going to create a website based on.

Tip: Try to find a popular topic that does interest you as you are going to have to write content about your chosen subject for your new website.

2: Register a .co.uk domain name - Here as well, there are many registrar’s available on the web through which you can buy domains.

Here are two good ones: Go Daddy & Name Cheap

As you will be targeting the UK market it is best to register a .co.uk domain name. My advice is to get one or two keywords in the domain if possible as well as this can help somewhat towards a better ranking in the search engines. For instance, if the topic you have chosen for your new website is say… Digital Cameras, then choosing a domain such as www.digitalcamerasonline.co.uk could help you a lot.

3: Create your website - If you know how to do this then great, if not get someone to do it for you, do not use a free online website builder or any such software, this has to be done properly. My recommendation here is that you create a website using the excellent Word Press blog Platform. This is what I do as Word Press sites are relatively easy to set-up and mostly search engine friendly. Keep in mind that a Word Press site requires PHP and Database supported hosting, if I have confused you now, speak to a web design or hosting company about helping provide you with a suitable package for your website.

4: Write and add articles on your chosen topic - This is an important step. Using the keywords and search terms you found related to your chosen topic you need to write some good quality articles for your new website. I recommend you start with around 5-10 articles to get going and do not stuff them with keywords, make it appear natural and flowing with targeted keywords placed strategically throughout the text. As time goes by, you can add more articles and content, the 5-10 I suggest are just a start and to begin getting you indexed by Google and the other search engines.

By the way… If you haven’t already done this, submit your website to Google. This will get your site indexed a bit faster.

5: Sign-up with a UK based affiliate program - There are many UK affiliate programs available on the web and the one I have personally had success with and recommend you try is Affiliate Window as they offer hundreds of campaigns for publishers to choose from. If your topic was digital cameras, they probably have at least five related campaigns for you to use.

6: Find campaigns within the affiliate program related to your topic - Spend some time looking for advertising campaigns within Affiliate Window (or whoever you joined) that are related to your chosen topic and your new website. So again, if your topic is digital cameras the online camera shop campaigns or camera accessory ad campaigns is what you are looking for. Related topics such as photography sites and other complimentary campaigns will also help.

Once you have made your choices it is then a matter of adding the supplied code to your website for you to display your new advertising banners and affiliate links throughout.

A few more useful tips:

1: Keep in mind that placing your ads above the fold and in full view of your visitors will help them to see the advertising and could result in more sales from your site, meaning more commission in your pocket.

2: Keep things targeted. If the chosen topic for your new website is all about cars, do not join and use advertising campaigns related to the latest pet accessories, as I have written in the past, a targeted marketing campaign works best online.

Like I said, I could write pages and pages going into great detail on how to tweak all of the above in order to maximize your profits but you will learn a lot of that information once you get stuck in if you have decided you are going to do this.

I hope the above has helped you and if you have any questions or comments on this method of how to make money on the web then feel free to leave comments or ask questions and as usual I will do my best to help where possible. Otherwise I wish you all the best in your mission to implement this advice and start earning some mighty British pounds online.
